ten things i love about harry potter PART TWO

it's time for part two of my ten part series, 10 things i love about Harry Potter! something i always loved in this series was how incredibly humorous so many scenes could be. jk rowling created some of the funniest characters i have ever read about. today's post is something you can only understand if you've read the books, so if you only watch the movies please stop reading now! SPOILER ALERT! because i really wouldn't want to ruin the hilarity when you actually decide to read them sometime.
without further ado i announce my number two.....

#2 comical quotes in divination
with professor trelawney

instead of trying to explain all the reasons why i read the divination scenes over and over again i've decided that today i'm just going to post the quotes. jk rowling can explain this one for me.

"Well, I had one that I was playing Quidditch the other night," said Ron, screwing up his face in an effort to remember. "What do you think that means?"
"Probably that you're going to be eaten by a giant marshmallow or something," said Harry, turning the pages of The Dream Oracle without interest.
something the movies don't show enough of is how witty harry really is. they give ron most of the humorous moments. although ron is hilarious in the books too, the books are inside harry's head and he is an exceptionally funny boy. /end rant.

"Can I have a look at Uranus, too, Lavender?"-Ron Weasley
for your viewing pleasure ladies and gentleman i present uranus. i'm pretty sure this is what ron was referring to also. right?

"Well, we were always going to fail that one," said Ron gloomily as they ascended the marble staircase. He had just made Harry feel rather better by telling him how he told the examiner in detail about the ugly man with a wart on his nose in the crystal ball, only to look up and realize he had been describing the examiner's reflection.

oh ron, always so brilliant and so smooth with his social skills.

and last but definitely not least, my personal favorite divination quote:

"I've got two Neptunes here," said Harry after a while, frowning down on his parchment, "that can't be right, can it?"
"Aaaah," said Ron, imitating Professor Trelawney's mysical whisper, "when two Neptunes appear in the sky, it is a sure sign that a midget in glasses is being born, Harry..."
brb lolling foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. makes me laugh without fail everytime i reread. pathetic? maybe. but look at the picture of the midget in glasses above and think again before you judge me.

love,
lindsay a.k.a. lindsay weasley
